Serita believes that the mandate for developing a yogic kinship with her students advances beyond body and physical health to speak to the fundamental benefits of sangha. As such, her practice consistently draws from the influences of social justice, the arts, women of color theory and consciousness-raising.
These classes are open to all levels. The intention behind this practice is to provide a safe, healing space for people of color to practice restorative yoga. The practice itself will consist of meditation, restorative postures and reflection. As we continue to work together, the effects of each practice will become self-evident; yoga is about self-preservation and wellness both on and off the mat. Talking circles, reflections and potlucks will be regular elements to this class. Please bring a mat, water bottle and wear comfortable clothing. These classes are a suggested donation of $10-15. Serita looks forward to meeting you and beginning this beautiful work together.
